Antiquarian Pulpit/Jumbo Folio Dutch Statenvertaling Bible VERY RARE, Circa 1650 In Fair Condition:
This is a stunning Statenvertaling Bible also known as a Statenbijble. The attractive leather, on wood board, cover of this volume is adorned with magnificent brass fittings. There is still a working single brass clasp in place. There are a few period era maps, that have been detached yet are included, depicting the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and Jerusalem. This Bible contains The Old and New Testament and the Apocrypha, although it has been printed in a unusual order with the Apocrypha been placed after the New Testament.
This Bible is 100 % legible with fine decorations at the beginning and ending of each book.
This Bible was most likely attached directly to the pulpit and in the distant past removed, as there is damage to the spine where chains linking the book to the pulpit. An excellent addition to any bible collection, antiquarian or interior decorator as this tome could be a eye-catching focal object.

The cover is cracked with age
The spine has to large points of damage (This is where I suspect the Bible was attached to a stand or pulpit)
