Douay Rheims New Testament Bible 1797 In Good Condition Extremely Rare:
This New Testament Bible is an amazing edition of a rare octavo Douay Rheims Bible. A rarity is due to the inscriptions that can be found around the first and last couple of pages. Before the text begins and after it ends is teeming to the brim with the names, DOBs and the dates of death of the many previous owner's of this small book. Studying the inscriptions one can find very specific personal details for example, the name of a child and at what time they were born: "1833, Tho(mas?) Hacker born Feb 28th 10 minutes to 8 o'clock in morning".
This tome is 100% legible with no pages missing. There are few small interesting printing errors regarding page numbers. Such as Philippians page 401 is printed as 301. This is also the case with the Colossians page 403 is printed as 43.
What is exciting about the condition of this Bible is, that it looks like the front and back pages were heavily annotated. This become apparent when looking at the worn condition of the cover and spine. However, the text is in superb condition. As if it went unread for most of the time.
