1607 Geneva "Breeches" Octavo Bible, With Apocrypha And Book Of Psalms:
This is an amazing variant of the Geneva "Breeches" Bible, containing both the Apocrypha and the Whole Book of Psalms with musical scores. This Bible was sourced from the library collection of Mulberry House, a former rectory of High Ongar church.
There are remnants of iron/brass work on the cover. These would have been latches and hooks.
The cover underwent a period restoration, as it looks like as if the was spine repaired, while the original covers seem to have been retained. This tome includes within the binding the BOCP, Apocrypha, Book of Psalms with meter and a full Concordance.
There is an inscription on the back of the front cover:
"Thomas Linley's Book April 8th 1757"
This may have been owned by Thomas Linley the Elder. Tt may have belonged to the "English Mozart" a famous composer during the 18th Century. However further research will be needed to confirm it.
